When is Revision Rhinoplasty Necessary?

There are several reasons why revision rhinoplasty in San Francisco at Mehta Plastic Surgery may be necessary. Because it’s such a precise procedure, even a slight miscalculation can result in an undesirable outcome. For example, if your primary surgeon removed too much cartilage or tissue, your nose will lose its structure.

If too little tissue is removed, your aesthetic concern may not be fully addressed. And finally, healing irregularities are hard to predict and can impact your results. In all of these scenarios and many more, Dr. Mehta can provide the results you want for your nose, both aesthetically and functionally.

Your Revision Rhinoplasty Surgery

Your revision rhinoplasty in San Francisco at Mehta Plastic Surgery will be done under general anesthesia, just like your primary procedure. Dr. Mehta works with leading, board-certified anesthesiologists from Medical Anesthesia Consultants (MAC) to ensure your safety and comfort.

Once the anesthetic has taken effect, Dr. Mehta will create a small incision and begin reshaping or rebuilding your nasal structure. If your first surgeon removed too much cartilage or bone, Dr. Mehta will build back the area with diced cartilage glued together. If you’re facing breathing challenges after the first procedure, he will address those structural issues as well.
