When is Revision Rhinoplasty Necessary?

Because rhinoplasty is such a precise procedure, if your primary surgeon misjudges the bone and cartilage that must be removed, you may face a variety of undesirable outcomes.

For example, if your primary surgeon removes too much tissue, your nose will lose its structure.

If too little tissue is removed, your nose may be under-corrected and you may remain unhappy with the aesthetics. And finally, irregularities in the healing process are difficult to predict and may impact your results.

In all of these scenarios and many more, Dr. Mehta can provide the results you want for your nose, both aesthetically and functionally.

Your Revision Rhinoplasty Surgery

Dr. Mehta will perform your revision rhinoplasty in Palo Alto under general anesthesia. He works with leading, board-certified anesthesiologists from Medical Anesthesia Consultants (MAC). Through tiny openings, he will reshape the bone and cartilage, taking special care to preserve or improve your breathing ability.

If your first surgeon removed too much cartilage and bone, Dr. Mehta meticulously builds back the area with cartilage grafted from another area of your body. If any breathing challenges have occurred due to the first procedure, he will address those structural issues as well.
