Your Xeomin Experience

We will administer your Xeomin injections in Palo Alto in the comfort of our office. First, we’ll numb the treatment area to keep you comfortable.

Then, we’ll use a fine needle to inject the Xeomin directly into the muscles that are responsible for your wrinkles. The Xeomin will relax those targeted muscles, softening your expression and potentially taking years off your appearance.

The treatment takes just 10 to 20 minutes to complete, and you can return to your day immediately. Over the next few days, you’ll start to see the Xeomin effects with a smooth, youthful, and wrinkle-free appearance.

Xeomin vs. Botox Which One is Right for You?

Xeomin and BOTOX are both approved for the same purpose: treating dynamic facial wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing the underlying muscles.

The primary difference lies in how the product is manufactured. Xeomin is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. Conversely, BOTOX is a complex blend of proteins. Xeomin doesn’t contain any additives, while BOTOX does. Although no studies have been performed, Xeomin may carry a reduced risk for an allergic reaction because it’s a purified form.

Dr. Mehta often recommends Xeomin for patients who no longer respond to BOTOX, typically due to antibody resistance. Xeomin offers a comparable onset and duration, providing an effective alternative for maintaining smooth, natural results.

The most common side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, and more.

Can I switch to Xeomin if I’ve used Botox in the past?

Yes, you can. Using Botox in the past does not prevent you from trying Xeomin.

At what age should I start Xeomin injections?

It depends on your goals and your unique skin. Most patients begin treatment in their 30s, or whenever dynamic wrinkles begin to appear. However, we have many patients in their 20s who use Xeomin preventatively—relaxing the underlying muscles so wrinkles don’t have the opportunity to form.
